My Z4M is is close to needing it's Inspection 1. Can anyone recommend a good Indy in the Staffordshire or Cheshire area who specialises in BMW M?

I've read less than flattering reviews of PJ Automotive on Cutters so I'm not keen on using them. I don't mind looking further afield as it's an important piece of work with valve clearances etc. I'll take a look at the place in Telford, cheers.

Since people are recommending places in Telford I can recommend Autobahn in Halesowen.

I do have one bit of advice. Avoid going to a garage which says the clearances never needing doing. It's rubbish. They are not a pleasant job to do. A couple of praised places don't check them and use the above line.

This is the exact reason I'm asking the question, as so many people seem to find garages insisting that the valve clearances are only part of the Inspection 2 and not the Inspection 1.

Another alternative a little further north from you is SJR Automotive in Chester and from my own personal recommendation there is Trenics a few miles further on in Shotton.

Another vote for Darren Wood. No one other than these guys work on my M5.

My only gripe is that I always have to wait 4-6 weeks due to their work load but that's a good sign.
