I recieved 6 months "Gold" cover from this company that was paid for by the Dealer I got my M6 from.

The air con stopped working and was diagnosed as a broken condenser. The above company is refusing to pay for the repair citing corrosion (oxidation) when the photos clearly show a clean break in the metal with no corrosion.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with this company or advice on how to challenge their "ruling"?

Was it a BMW or a normal car trader?

If not BMW I hate to say it but IME a number of those warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on. If you don't believe me check out Ashley's thoughts ; he sources cars for people for a living.

http://www.palmdale.co.uk/faqs/#12

In the archives he does go into more detail.

I've not been burnt myself but a few family members and friends have. Have you had the car for less than 30 days?

Is your 6 an F06/F12/F13? Rather like the F10/F11 many owners have had condenser issues, in some cases multiple replacements over a period of time.

Not sure if BMW are still doing replacements for free mind...

I wouldn't touch an expensive/high performance BMW with a bargepole without a BMW warranty on it. The original warranty can be continually renewed and can also be applied to a car without an active BMW warranty on it subject to the vehicle meeting qualifying criteria, so I'd insist on a BMW warranty or walk away if I were buying something so high end. Good luck getting it sorted. If I were you I'd get a BMW warranty on it asap - aftermarket ones are rarely worth the paper they're written on.

Agree with every word, never touch these cars without the BMW cover.

Just Google Auto protect. Loads of complaints. They were once investigated on Watch Dog (iirc).

I also experienced similar with them. Leant my lesson. Avoid them like the plague and stick with Mondial if you're not buying from a main dealer.

Thanks for all your comments - very helpful. I have just spoken to my local BMW dealership and they confirm that they can reinstate the BMW warranty as it has a full BMW dealer service history.

Just to say.. I have the same warranty on my car (E90 M3 LCI)
One of the throttle actuators failed the day after picking it up.
They agreed to pay out and I even managed to persuade them to go for the refurbished uprated pair rather than a new one.
(Stupid not to with a price difference of £500).
Pay out was about £900 in the end.
