Could somebody give me an idea on how much a set of front pads are for a 2015 M3. I've found a car in the exact spec I want other than the ceramic brakes it has unfortunately. Just wondering how much I'm looking at for a set of pads for example. As the car has 15000 miles on it and was wondering what I'd be letting myself in for. Thanks in advance!!

My car has the ceramic brakes and is now on 12,300 miles. I drive says 120,000 miles left on
front pads and 160,000 on rear pads. They don't wear anywhere near as quick as normal pads and discs. They look much better than the standard kit and you don't get any brake dust at all. Don't know about prices except they will be very expensive I imagine but I don't think you will have to worry for quite a while.

I'm not sure how accurate these prices are for a UK car, however if they're comparable to the USD figures then I wouldn't be scared of a car with CCB fitted... but if you're talking over a grand a corner for pads then I'd start to re-think them, budget for steel replacements or aim to tee up a swap with someone on an owners club.

I've done 30,000 miles on my ceramics and they look like new. The pads have been changed, but only because they squeaked (a lot); the discs are fine.

I don't think pads are too expensive.

It's the disc which are eye wartering, but unless you hammer them on track a lot, bump it sideways through a gravel trap, or drop a wheel awkwardly on them with when taking them off, they don't wear.

Thanks for the replies, FYI a set of front pads are just under £500.00 by the way but you're right they do last a long time so hasn't put me off. What has put me off is being the 4th owner on a car less than 2 years old. Still contemplating at the moment though!!

A full set of pads and discs for an F8x car without CCBs is near enough £2k fitted, as far as I've seen.

Given that ceramics supposedly last multiple times longer than steels, I'd not be too worried.
