M5 Demonstrator

I am due to change my M4 at the end of the year, so I am looking around thinking of various options, rather than buy the same again.

Currently looking at:
GTR
911 GTS/Carrera S
Exige 380
M5

Despite having bought BMW’s for over 15 years, can I get my hands on a M5 to test, can I not!

I refuse (despite the sales team’s insistence) to put a deposit down on a £90k car without testing - am I mad, or is it them?

Does anyone know where there is a demo car anywhere in the South East?

Call BMW directly and say what you've said here. I reckon they'll sort it.

My understanding is that the car has not yet been launched in the uk, it being deferred by a month until end March/beginning of April. Almost all dealers will have demo up and running within 2-3 weeks. Any dealership that doesn’t can arrange to get a car from BMW UK, although there is a charge to the dealership of c£500 for the 48 hour loan. This isn’t usually a problem if your a good customer with the dealer being happy to take it on the chin from my experience.

Working on a 12 week lead time for ordering and taking delivery of a new car means you've got 6 months to sort out a test drive in an M5 so need to panic I would have thought.

Saw a white new M5 on the road in High Wycombe, so not sure if the local dealer has one in or this is a private purchase, or BMW UK that is 30 miles away has one. I would contact BMW UK and see if they can make one availible to you.
