Has nobody taken delivery yet, as i'm dying to hear about the car?

Whoever took my order slot will have taken delivery & possibly the next in line, so one would assume their must be upwards of 50 cars on the road now. Spotted one in the Classifieds the other day, with 100 miles on the clock & a dreamer asking price of £115k. I hope for my own sanity they get nothing like that or i've just lost £20Ksmile

Kind of glad i walked away if the CP really is due later this year, as that would kill the middle/end ownership knowing a likely better car was released so soon after the original model, so this gives the market time to settle down, BMW to up production volumes & hopefully the deals to start appearing early next year.

I have ordered my car, but that's not due for delivery until March 2019 because if the interior I have requested. Interesting about the CP, I might have to ask about that.

I am ordering through Park Lane, if that makes any difference, and they told me they've only got 4 delivery slots this year.

Last week I visited a dealer that has a new M5 on display. Despite being sat only 20m away from the car, and with it light up like a Christmas tree, the receptionist had no idea what an M5 was or if they had one for me to view.

The car salesman (fake tan, top row of teeth whitened) was like an over-excited puppy when I confirmed that I was looking to buy. He commented on how beautiful my kids were, he was charming towards my wife and, for around 1 minute, we were the best of friends. Until I had the audacity to state that I wouldn't be buying without a discount. At that he turned on his heels, shouted something along the lines of "come back in 6 months!" leaving only a business card and the lingering aroma of cheap aftershave.

There are M5s available, but BMW UK is insisting they're sold at list.

You obviously didn't speak to the correct level of salesman . Both rows of teeth whitened and a real tan have a better discount authority .. sure you didn't talk with the cleaner ?

No discount , waiting lists ... yeah right that will be a first for an m5

My Local bmw dealer in Bath told me last week that they have 2 slots for m5s this year,
Both are still available as no one would commit with a deposit

Seems weird that discounts were available at launch (when the BMW order book opened), yet when the demo cars start arriving they abolish any mention of discountsmile

Saw another F90 M5 with 100 miles up for sale last night, this one was base spec & up for £92k, so another owner hoping to make £10-15k by flipping.

10 or 15K, they start @ 89K no discounts.
Wait a year then buy if you must, they are going to drop big time in RV.

No discounts didn't apply when pre-ordered, that's only i believe a BMW UK stipulation for those orders placed post official launch, i.e. in the last few weeks.

Any Customer car on the road today or up for sale in an attempt to flip will have been secured for a reasonable chunk less than list price (or at least mine was).

OTR Price for a base spec car was £87,160.00 when my order was confirmed & the same will no doubt apply to the couple up for sale 'lightly used/flipped'.

This M5 will be spectacular for sure, even if it is getting way too big now.

I’d happily drop £10K pa on one on a 0% PCP deal or a lease, but I would not fancy owning one and trying to sell in two or three years time......

The F10 would be a smarter choice right now. The

The quote I got this morning from my usual dealer is for a residual value of £38k after 3 years on 8k miles per year.

That's pretty hefty depreciation, for sure.

That will be some serious monthlies , is the car worth it?, IMO NOPE.
The performance (I drove one Sunday) is largely Unusable here, 99% of the time.
Fuel down the drain IMHO.
My new 540i Xdrive M Sport with "M" Performance Kit upgrades has great power and more than enough to keep me happy, and I've had the M5 M6GC CP, two G80 M3's. This car has the same interior as the M5 bar two buttons M1 M2, same Nappa leather comfort seats the lot.

I agree.

The quote I got for the F90 last weekend was:

Cash price £92k (just standard spec’ plus £500 for different interior trim).

Or they offered 5.9% apr with £24k down and £1,109 per month for 3 years and a final payment of £38,100.

No discount at all was available for a cash purchase but I don’t think I could stomach handing over near on £100k up front for a 5 series anyway. That’s a vast amount of cash to me, although it won’t be to some people, admittedly.

Monthlies will have to be viable to shift these things.

Who in their right mind would pay 5.9% APR.....and why??

Hang loose, they will be desperate for your business, especially with the uncertainty that Brexit is bringing.

Just remember their quoted residuals....they say it all really.

My A8 has more than enough power for todays roads, as did the FFRR A/B before that, but neither are an M5 & are ever going to be.

Same applies to a 540i, it's nothing like an M5, inside, outside, on the road or any other measure of comparison. It probably offers up a more realistic ownership experience & certainly cheaper, but then many other cars offer the same.

Second thing the salesman asked was " how will you be paying ..." .
