Evening all,

Does having non-star marked tyres on an M5 (F10) affect the BMW Extended Warranty ("Insured Warranty") in any way?

I've just bought an approved used BMW fitted with non star marked tyres, so I hope not!

Kumho Ecsta PS91. I've only changed the rears to these so far. They are very good in my opinion!

The fronts still have star marked Pirelli P Zero.

Admittedly, this was a few years back, but I had an engine replaced under warranty and wasn't running the crap OE Continental tyres that were BMW star marked.

It went in a fair few times for warranty work, and nothing was ever mentioned about the non-starred tyres.

Warranty I wouldn't think so but, some insurance companies are not happy if you move off the 'OE Approved' tyres. Best to check with yours?

Just a suggestion but running an F10 M5 on anything other than the best tyres available feels like a false economy to me. Traction is absolutely at a premium so you want to pick a tyre that means you can get as much out of the car as you can, as often as you can. I struggle to beat MPSS, amazing traction wet or dry and last almost forever.
