Are the active seats a must on the E60? I am in two minds about whether I should get a car with or without them. I see quite a few cars without them so I guess the 1st owners didn't see the need either. Are they just a gimmick?

Would you be put off by a car without them?

I've not got them on mine so can't really say if they are life changing; I have read on some threads the leather can squeak when they're doing their thing.
You can still adjust the bolsters even if you've not got the active option. For me, the full leather and 167m wheels were more important plus my car also had the individual audiothumbup

I had them on a previous e60, fun for about a day then never used them again.

Thanks guys. It often seems that people want them, especially for resale.

I like mine, but I wouldn't rule out an otherwise good car for it.

I had them and would say they're a bit of a gimmick really. They're 'cool' and first timers in your car will be impressed if you're bothered about that but other than that I never really turned them on.

I have owned one with and without, waste of money. Don't let it be a deal breaker, buy on condition and history and don't get hung up on options.

I ended up buying one with active seats, though it wasn't a must. Tbh I am indifferent about them. I prefer the dynamic seats of my old e55 I think.

I have them in my E60, used them for a day, got annoying and never used them again. Basically set the seats backs as I like them, and set them to stay where they are irrespective of M mode selected etc.
