Hi

I have just purchased a '64 plate M5 with the following upgrades:

Evolve Remap (752.6BHP)
Active Autowerke Downpipe
Pipecross panelfilters
Full Race Eisenmann exhaust system

Between 1500 -1900 rpm the drone is unbearable and I need to resolve it, hopefully without forking out for a new exhaust system. I am a novice with all this but any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing replacing the downpipes would be the first step but not sure.

Thanks in advance

My car is standard so cant provide any definitive advice but...

of the mods you list I would suspect the race exhaust...particularly the back box...if its still there...any pics from under the car?

...unless the drone is being 'piped in'...

I was told that downpipes on a F10 are very likely to increase the sound level in the cabin beyond the acceptable, so can well imagine that in combination with Eisenmann Race it is OTT. I would change the downpipes or if it is too costly see an exhaust specialist to maybe add a middle damper (assuming a X pipe has not been installed too)

You'll be better off posting on f10.m5post than here as the Americans love their hardcore mods more than we do here and should be able to help. Active sound is almost certainly a big contributor to cabin noise if you have not turned this off already do so!

Thanks for the replies and info, I didn't realise you could turn off the Active Sound, I'll try that next.
