My 2006 E60 M5 has the sos call system failure error.

I was told that this could be fixed by reactivating it but I aren't so sure about that.

The i-drive system still works, Bluetooth phone still works and the radio still works. Any ideas what could be causing it and how I either fix it or disable the error message?

Thanks.

Somewhere in the back of my mind I seem to recall that this could be a problem with Bluetooth and your own phone.

Try disconnecting your phone and forgetting it and then reconnecting.

Thanks, I'll give that a go. It happened to the last owner as well but not sure if they ever tried this.

Had this happen on my 330 e92 about three weeks ago, message come up a couple of times on the same day and than went back to normal with no error.
As above read it is something to do with the phone.

Will I need to reset / reboot the i-drive once all phones are removed?

Unpaired all phones then repaired mine, same result unfortunately.

In going to look at trying to code the SOS function out.

Thanks to TheAngryDog for posting this,

I've been struggling to find an answer to this point for years and like a sucker I've paid garages hundreds to replace certain bits and it still comes up.

My phone pairs and works, I've got no issue with sound int he car, sat nav works fine and other than the poxy message, there are no symptoms.

Is there any chance you could share your contact details or the FB group contact with me so I can get rid of the message once and for all.

Thanks in anticipation.

Bit of a bump. My e60 also has this issue and I'd like to simply delete the SOS function, so would appreciate the contact too.

I am in Aylesbury. If you're happy to pop over then I am happy to look at coding it out for you.
