F13 M6 competition pack just purchased... a few q’s
Discussion
Hi all.
I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago after getting out of and returning a disaster of an E61 M5 purchase. Essentially the E61 was in the shop being repaired for 4 weeks out of the first 6 weeks of ownership and I lost patience and rejected it back to the dealer. I must say they were very understanding and paid me what I paid... but I couldn’t walk away without something to get about in..
It could’ve been anything from group stock really, new or used, a fast 1 series to something silly... and given I lost 10k in 12 months on a 125d (admittedly I put a lot of miles on it) I ended up driving away in an F13 M6 (pics will follow, the car is in having a few things put back to perfect).
I think I got a decent deal - £40k for a 2016 car, 25k miles, comp pack, light alloys, 2 year warranty, camera etc, (man) logic being, as long as I have another ‘mileage car’ to take some of the longer drives I do, I’ll never lose that sort of cash and I’ll be driving a much newer, less stressful to own, more luxurious machine... unfortunately without the V10.
It has the competition pack amongst other things, which is where my questions lie. Does anyone know about the exhaust? Is it a standard M6 exhaust or a comp pack one. Would it be silly money to change the whole thing for more (tasteful) noise or can the exhaustmeister mod (or wiring open the valves) be done on the comp pack exhaust?
I don’t know much about it but if it’s a standard exhaust then I assume I can do it?
Thanks in advance for any advice/tips!
Chris

Hi,
Seems there are not many M6 owners still around!
I have recently bought one and enjoying getting to know it.
Seems the Comp pack exhaust is different, with black tips and different mufflers. Meant to have a better sound than the standard M6, which i find has a really subdued note. Definitely gonna research a decat or the exhaustmeister mod. Don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with the Comp pack exhaust?
