As stated, looking at these and wanted to check my understanding on warranty. I’m not going run one without.

I’ve checked on the BMW Warranty site and it shows about £140 per month for below 60k mile cars. After 60k it jumps to an amount I would not consider. Am I right in thinking that if you have a car that say expires on the included warranty at 55k miles and you immediately extend, you pay a rolling £140 irrespective of tipping over 60 k and it’s only if you stop and then restart it would jump to the higher amount.

I plan to keep for 2 to 3 years so just figuring the optimum miles to purchase at.

I also gather that if I bought a car privately with the official warranty in place, same applies I can roll this on.

Have I got this right ?

Thx in advance.

I've been thinking of one too though the f90 talk is putting me off. That aside my plan is AUC LCI and push for two years warranty rather than mondial.

Yes that is right.

I bought an E60 M5 a few years ago privately and the car still had 6 months BMWAUC warranty to run. A couple of weeks before it expired I took up the Mondial warranty paying monthly. Over the 3 years I did have 2 or 3 price increases but only minimal amounts. It went from something like £105 to £116 per month. It doesn’t change when you hit 60k if paying monthly.

When I bought my AUC 7 series I signed the deal on condition it had 2 years warranty. It had the cost to the dealer on the final invoice at £600
Buying the second year myself would of been £2k.
Another thing to note is that BMW are generally very good at honouring the warranties, I've had new or nearly new cars under warranty since 2006 and never yet had to pay for any repairs needed.

Thanks all. Yep, my plan is to push for 2 years from the dealer. Looking good value right now.

I just put a deposit down on a 14 plate competition pack f10 M5 - the dealer wouldn't really budge on price but threw in the extra year of AUC warranty gratis to seal the deal without much persuasion at all.
