Hi all,

I've spotted a couple of pre-reg M3 Competition cars and I am seriously tempted into moving out of the current main car and into one of these.

A few things are influencing this decision, the primary one being as much as I love the current car as a cruiser I miss a bit of the engagement. I did take an M3C out for a test a couple of years back and loved it but the Panamera won out.

The depreciation on the Panamera with 2 years ownership and 30k miles has bottomed out (e.g. WBAC (used as a gauge) are offering me 2k less than 12 months ago with 15k less on the clock). I am also taking into consideration price of new summer tyres, brakes and pads plus the ubiquitous warranty which seems a must. All in without even spending anything else I'm looking at close to 6k. This is where I need some man maths help and advice as to whether its a good idea to jump now.

I'm considering the fact the new car is due soon and that production has stopped, its coming up to the end of the year and this could mean some dealers prepared to make some good deals. It seems the average price for a dealer pre-reg 18 car is around 53k. The WBAC folks offering 20k for mine.

What deals do you think I could realistically squeeze out of a dealer on one of these cars, or is it worth going for a slightly older M3C?

If I get 20k for the car that's 33k towards the new one, probably over 4 years with an optional balloon but then I consider the circa 6k I am saving on this years bits and bobs in real terms that's 27k (before any deals are done) - but I've never bought on finance, I just could do with advice as to whens best ot start talking regarding getting deals, what sort of deal should I realistically expect, what are the essentials to consider for the options

Cheers

Do it now. Spending 1/3 of the value of a car you don't want on "bits and bobs" doesn't seem to make sense. It's still going to depreciate even if not so rapidly.
WBAC can be okay, try tootle, for dealers, Evans Hallshaw also claim to beat WBAC. There are others.

I don't know, but won't dealers be ramping up pre-reg sales for 19 plate cars? If so that will surely be the M4 I imagine as M3 went out of production, closer to 12 months ago.
If I wanted a M3, I'd grab one now.

I know squat about finance, but a chap on M3 cutters was lauded for this deal albeit a M4; maybe an idea you can extrapolate?

’ve been offered
M4 (Pre-reg Jan 19) 10 miles
Ultimate pack
SMB
New car 3.9% apr rate
List price £71,460
Mine for £55,300

Wow!

4 doors is a bit of a preference though.

Might pop to one of the local dealers and find out!

This was a deal at my local Sytner on a M4.
Not quite as good but maybe more options on this car.

If you can’t zoom in on photo , I’ll put the figures I can see down.
