Trying to book my M6 in for a service, brakes and a bit of warranty work. Tried 3 dealers. First available courtesy car mid May!! One was into June

Told “we have a lot of customers sir”. Need more cars then. Suspect it’s to do with the EGR issue.

Anyway, does anyone know how I can get a loan car sooner. Was trying to book in for 6 weeks out.

On the basis you can hire a car for 55p a day from Easirent, that's the way to go.

Seems to be affecting all dealers. It's the volume of recall work and lack of parts availability that causes the problem. They are booking cars in, giving loan cars, then establishing they can't get the parts!

"we have a lot of customers sir" is pretty patronising isn't it. Says more about their lack of capacity planning capabilities and perhaps if the quality control was better they wouldn't be in the mess to begin with.
