Evening all,

Looking to buy an M2 and these two came up https://www.dicklovett.co.uk/bmw/used-cars/2016-bm... and https://www.dicklovett.co.uk/bmw/used-cars/2018-bm... just wondering if anyone had owned/come across these to save me a bit of a hike to go view if they were dogs.

Cheers

Phil

Don't know anything about those 2 cars specifically but I recently bought a very low mileage 18 plate M2 from DL and managed to get a decent deal, so make sure you hit them low.

Manager’s car can often mean the demonstrator. More likely I guess , the more junior the manager.

Have you run a background check on , I presume, the other one. If I find a car’s been on a private plate , I’ve had luck googling sometimes and see photos in social media of burnouts , track days etc.

I’ve had enquiries in with DL in the past and found their used sales staff very helpful. I’m struggling to remember names other than Gareth Jones if that’s any help.

I check the AUC M2's on a daily basis as I want one at some point and they are selling like hot cakes, Some don't even have the picture posted yet and the next day they have gone, you can see the very low mileage higher specced ones are going the quickest, never known 30K + cars to be in such demand, think now that the Comp is here a good few people are moving across meaning a lot of non Comp cars on the market are at a sensible(ish) price and therefore getting snapped up pretty pronto.

Sorry this don't help your'e Dick Lovett question but thought I would chuck this in anyway. OP ps good look with your search they are amazing cars for the money especially at the moment.

Strange .... I've recently bough one and was watching the market for 3/4 months beforehand. I thought stock seemed to be hanging around for ages!

Mine had been at an independant dealer for circa. 3 months. AUC were hanging around too.

Good advice thanks. The blue cars seem to be the most popular in terms of selling from a very unscientific observation of AUC but I am leaning a little more subtle, maybe the grey. Im going to pop down to Gatwick and see if they can proffer the two they have (grey and blue that is sold but..) together so I can see how the different shades make me feel.

The 40k ish 2018 ish models with main dealer warranty still running are the most appealing to me right now but cant help look at the 35k ones and think hmm not a bad amount of motor for the money...

Looks nice. Owned by a weather forecaster , I presume wink

Spec. doesn’t mention lumbar support. Seats in M2 are according to BMW the M lite seats with a bit more bolstering , so I think could do with lumbar.

Lumbar standard on the Comp which has proper M seats. Changes for the better.

Shame about mirrors , it was a cheap optional extra compared to cost of replacing!

Not at the moment its not... Like I say I check AUC every day and I reckon 10-12 have disappeared this last 7-10 days, I know because I was shortlisting cars and they would be gone the next day, It seems to be specific cars that are selling quick, Poorly specced cars and 25k + mileage are hanging around longer, Yours looked a beauty by the way.

Exactly what mine was/is... registered April 18, only had 1600 miles on it when I got it. Up for just under £40k, I managed to get £2330 off.

If you want a laugh followed by a cry try putting AUC in the WBAC or other selling websites. It'll make your eyes weep. Dealers have a £5k margin on all M cars apparently. I was tempted to trade mine in for a M2 / M4 until I did this. Private sellers are not shifting unless they are priced very well. The last three months they have dropped £1k a month in the book. Mental!

WBAC value - £29120 WTF!!!!!!

ouch.

OK DL sales chap phoned to find out when I was arriving on the train. I naturally replied that it was showing sold on the website so being a reasoning sort of chap elected not to travel 2 hours to see a sold car. Apparently the owner/blokey who works there has withdrawn from the site (so it shows sold) but not from sale?! Guy was upset I presumed that he wouldn't of called me to say its sold but like, really is this on me!?

Anyhow slightly phased by that exchange..

Went in at 38 on https://used.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/201902275361024 and they wouldn't move on the sticker price. So they must be moving reasonably well from their data.

Oh well..

Could it be that's it's not long in stock, maybe some other interest ; in 5 years that's always been my experience why AUC don't negotiate.
Unless you wanted grey, it didn't seem that well specced for the price. No icon LEds for example. The one at Ocean (black) seem better value.

To my knowledge been there at least 6 weeks and has come down from its price in the window by 800 quid recently but still. I was bemused that there wasn't any room for negotiation, surely the hagglings part of it and from scanning PH people seem to get 'deals' (tho might be bravado I guess).

Ok I will check it out smile

The car in the link above is booking at £32k. fk paying £39k for it. It’s not even that well specced.
