At 22k, my f10 needs a new set of tyres - the tread is fine and the tyres have been fantastic, but they're now 7 years old and feel very brittle.

So, a question for anyone who has put MPS4S on their f10 m5 - are they better than the MPSS? Are there any issues that I should know about? Also, are they BMW approved?

Morning!

i went from MPSS to MPS4S on my remapped F10 M5, i found the traction in the lower gears significantly greater!

That's good to know, Danny - thanks. The traction light is now appearing a lot on mine, with the tyres in their current state.

My M6GC was recovered to Sytner High Wycombe after a blowout in France (long story) and I asked them to fit MPS 4S to the rears but they wouldn't as they were not approved for my car by BMW yet MPSS were so I had those. The MPSS are streets ahead of the Pirellis that came off and the 4S is reckoned to be better still by many.

Don't know if this is the same for the M5 but it's a pointer maybe?

Spoke to BMW and they said they'll only fit MPSS. The 4S only seems to be star rated for the new M5.

I had a similar situation and Park Lane (which was where the car was recovered to) allowed me to get my usual mobile fitter guy to go there and fit a 4S for me. Given that I'd just fitted a new set of 4S a few weeks earlier there was no way I was going to have BMW fit SS all round! smile
