Hi,
Just wondering what are good rare optional extras on the E46 M3? And what good rare interesting specs have you seen or owned?

Thanks,
Levi

That's interesting , because I always thought lumbar was standard.
if the OP means rarity, of all the cars I considered up to 2016 when I bought mine : only rear blind from your list was rare and I hadn't even heard of the items you (I agree) are not fussed on.

Folding mirrors isn't a bad one.

Colors, from the regular list on M3 registry , Alpine White and Oxford Green are those I've seen the least of.
Not so sure on interiors.

Lumbar and width was standard in the UK, but optional in Australia where I am.

I forgot about folding mirrors too.

Rear blind was the only really rare option I've seen.

Colours you can see what was rare here:

Seems like there was 1 in the world in Merlot red!

Mine was imola/imola which is pretty rare. I also passed on oxford green/cinammon in 2010.

All the way through the production run? It seems really common over there.

I have a 2002 M3 vert, mine came with a rare optional extra that I didn't know was available, a motorola startac mobile phone and holder that sits under the arm rest, tidy little install and rare as you like.

Obviously its a bit out of date now, but the phone still works, I took it the whole thing out and replaced it with OE cup holders,
Ive kept it though.

Plenty of rare ones thanks to the individual colours available.

The nicest one I’ve had was techno violet with champagne leather.
