Full power is there from day one, RIS should be shown in IDrive under service.
IF not the dealership should be contacted who did the service before you buy.
Really? I was told it was lower during run in period and that the RIS also increased it as well as changing the oil ... ah well you live and learn!IF not the dealership should be contacted who did the service before you buy.

Well, interestingly, I just had a telephone conversation about an hour ago with the M technician who has just finished the RiS on my new M5C. He told me categorically that there is an adjustment at this service that releases more power. He said it's not a lot and you may not notice the difference. He said the car is delivered in "transport mode" and remains in that until after the RiS. IF not the dealership should be contacted who did the service before you buy.
His words, not mine.
I'm just off to try it now.
I might be a while.

Well he is the workshop supervisor and senior M technician and he was quite adamant about it because he mentioned it without being prompted and I queried it. He was also quite specific about there being a "transport mode" which was removed at this service. I would suggest that's a pretty official answer! What's the basis for the claim of urban legend
I guess contradicting thoughts/posts. This has been ‘rumoured’ to be the case for many M cars, having owned quite a few my dealerships have always stated they don’t change a thing and that transport mode is removed when the cars are PDI at the Uk port. I asked this question this afternoon after picking my M5Comp up from getting the winter wheels fitted. The M tech there said there are absolutely no changes to power settings, only engine and oil differential changes. Anyway doesn’t really matter and at least you can now enjoy your car to the maximum

.Anyway as you say, it doesn't really matter, and if the figure of 659bhp that's quoted above is correct I will be very happy indeed with that.
