M2 competition running in service-average cost
Discussion
It’s an oil and filter service and it’s always 2 years from the car’s build date. Or up to 18k miles whichever is soonest ; probably less miles unless you do a lot of motorway (gentler) miles.
Brake fluid is 3 years from build date.
The second and bigger oil service including plugs is 2 years (or mileage up to 18k) after first oil service. This is a lot more expensive.
Look for cars with service packs ; before 31-12-2016 5 years or 50k miles.
After , 3 years 36k Miles , this one not likely worth it unless you do high miles to cover the expensive 2nd oil service.
You can put registration into BMW service site to get an idea of prices. Otherwise phone around for quotes.
There’s a vehicle check too which I think is after 3 years or (I think) 36k Miles. That’s pretty cheap.

just had my M2C 1200 mile running in service. Cost was £344 and included engine oil and filter change, Diff oil change and (in think) gearbox oil change (DCT). They also make the full BHP available as apparently it was restricted before. And gave it a good wash and valet.
As I understand it, they only change the transmission oil for manual transmissions - DCT has always been "fill for life" (although, BMW's definition of "life" is the warranty period - it's absolutely worth doing the DCT fluid later down the line)Gary Kinghorn said:
Paid about £270 for mine from Dick Lovett
How comes it was so cheap? Supplied your own oil? Negotiated? Or was that just their stated price.I assume the M2 is no different than the M4 in that it's engine and diff fluid change? Everywhere near me is asking a few pounds either side of £360 for my M4.

Oil and filter - 50ish quid. Dealers do net deserve the premiums they command.
Not sure where you can get an oil and filter done for £50 on a new M car. That's only the hourly rate at a back street garage before you've bought any parts. Looking at online retailers (Opie Oils), the engine oil alone is c.£100 plus the diff fluid is c.£50.Mark83 said:

That's just what it cost and no I didn't supply my own oil.I assume the M2 is no different than the M4 in that it's engine and diff fluid change? Everywhere near me is asking a few pounds either side of £360 for my M4.
