This looks very nice! I didn't even know anyone did conversions other than a couple of private builds

Wow that looks sublime.. Joe Achilles was testing one on Youtube a few weeks ago but I thought it was the only one in the UK.. Can't believe there ain't a

market for them in the UK considering the amount of RS6 you see on the road.

Exactly, I saw the Joe Achilles vid. I have an Alpina B5 Tourer which I adore (old shape E61) and this is effectively her modern smaller offspring. The build on the Joe A video was great, clearly the owner knows his stuff. I also don't understand the lack of fast estate competition from BMW against the AMG and Audi rivals. I see the A6 estate has finally been released in the US.

No there isn't, they sold around 3000 over 7 years ( C7 RS6) that's a tiny almost not worth bothering about market, unless of course you feel your brand benefits from a halo model uber estate (which Audi clearly do) BMW prefers their halo model to be an uber coupe or fast saloon.....

I would love to see an M3 or M5 Touring, but the E34 and E61 M5 Tourings just didn't sell.

However, short of going for a full conversion, if you really want a RWD estate with a bloody big engine, the C63 is there - OK, it is not unique, like these M3 "estate" conversions, but it fits the bill and benefits from a factory build.

Could you imagine the hassle with the insurance companies...

On the phone to aviva... So yes I have a 320d estate and I've had a few minor modifications... Would it be easier to send a spreadsheet listing them all?? ??

However, thing of beauty in my opinion.

Actual lol at this. Although similar fun with some Alpina models when 'BMW non specific model' comes up. Maybe in this case they could base on an M3 saloon and add say 10 percent on for the extra bootspace biggrin

I hadnt realised the M Tourers had stopped, shame as I think they look superb.

Have Merc also stopped ?

I remember Clarkson hooning the BM and Merc around some airport on TG a while ago.

Yes Audi S series and Merc AMGs the only current new option for tourers unless you count BMW M sport models. For Beemers you have to look at Alpina B3 and B5 models to get full fat performance

As others have said, the E34 and E61 M5 tourings just did not sell in enough numbers to justify their production costs, not just in the UK but worldwide.

For the E34 there were 891 3.8 M5's (no 3.6's) all LHD.
For the E61 there were 803 LHD and just 222 RHD cars made.

It's odd, the number of people that say I wish they made an M5 touring blah blah, but very few people actually buy them. About a third of the RHD E61 production were the initial dealer demonstrators!

But I do like the E34 M5 Touring, this is mine.

Handy for the dog too

It looks awful with black wheels. Then again, I don't really get the estate car/cool thing. I much prefer the normal saloon although if I didn't have a second 'family' car then I'd maybe consider one as a family wagon.

If money was no object I would buy that F80 Touring no question and worry about insuring it later.. I simply love Aggressive tourings .

Our next car will more than likely be an estate so i dont really mind, but 80 grand car and we ll just chav the wheels.

Makes it look cheap

M5 Tourings always struggled to sell even in the used car market. Picked up my 2008 car with an invoice price of £89,880 in 2011 at 30k via BMW for £31k including 2yrs warranty. Imagine the bid they had shown the one and only original owner.

It took Sytner Harold Wood 6 weeks to sell it and at the end they were desperate, having stuck it on for £35k...

I was considering a two year 335d for about £22k plus about £1500 to get it up to about 375bhp and 700 lb ft torque. It would be pretty close to an M3 on a normal road and it would have x drive for bad weather.

I just can't get my head around the price.
I'd rather have a brand new B3 Touring for the same money.
Don't forget, the new B3 isn't based on the B58 engine but the S58, so it's arguably already an M3 Touring.
Brand new with warranty and so on.
