Is it just me or do these cars eat through battery charge when parked up? Mine needs a top up once a week on the charger or I get a warning bong when I get in. Obviously very little use at the moment so just wondering if the battery is shot or this is normal?

they all eat batteries especially in the winter - I've had one for 3 years and can't work out why the battery is so poor. Never had similar problems in any other cars. Rest of the car is good though.

Tracker?

I know Imprezas are notorious for battery drains due to the tracker.

They’re disastrous. I use mine as a daily and commuting last winter only about eight miles down the road constantly saw me digging the charger out.

I actually charged mine up again recently and I’m convinced it’s now driving a shifting (DCT with GTS software) more sweetly.

how old is the battery? 5+ years might need a change.

My M6 is always giving me a high battery discharge so need to go start it every so often (7 weeks longest I have left it, no power source) and just manages to start up.

Mine was only a couple of years old at the time. It’s definitely the car.

Agreed it seems to be the electric load is higher than most when not in use, battery health is fine...just doesn't last that long (though not yet had any starting issues just low charge warning). Work required me to go in today so given it a blast to keep it happy.

I put mine into storage every winter - part of that is to give the battery a refresh. The rest of the year it gets taken out at the weekend, occasionally eith a two/three week gap. Think it's fine if the battery is in good condition - would suggest putting it on a CTEK charger at least once a year.
