I was idly looking through the BMW used car website the other day and couldn't find any sign of an M8, in fact it doesn't even list them in the search function. Are they actually for sale in the UK?

I'm not immediately looking for one but something I might consider next year. Anyone know anything about them? Or actually had one? Any info gratefully received.

They are not secondhand, thats why you don't see them.

Thought there might have been one or two used examples or ex-demo, pre-reg cars out there. Obviously not. So when was the car released in the UK, thought it was last year?

Yea but silly money, no one wants them.

Certainly not much evidence of anyone buying one.

Actually found 5 on there, all convertibles. Weird that I couldn't find them on the BMW site, maybe didn't look hard enough. Anway, you're right JMBMWM5 they are silly money and also not interested in a convertible.
Maybe next year things might look better.

Anyone that’s bought one is probably about £50k in negative equity right now.

They won’t be for sale cause the few who have bought one are stuck with it!!

There is the Grancoupe to consider, seemingly more common than the coupe at the moment on the classifieds.

I’ve been looking and thinking the same, could be a great used purchased in 2/3years time at less than half price!

But we need some plonkers to buy them at full price first. Clearly a very capable car - but silly money.

Peter Vardy are already advertising them with £26k off, before haggling.

Lot of money for what they are, no matter how good they drive. These will hemorrhage money so leasing would probably be a better option, still expensive though for a BMW. Have had most of the bigger M cars so looked into it a few months ago. Eventually decided against it. I personally would prefer to spend another £10k and get into a 3-year-old Huracan, will have already done a huge chunk of its money and tco would be less I expect. I've lost substantially more on my 7 series than on anything exotic I've owned. Suspect, they'll (have to) be some good deals on new and used coming up.

As we've got plenty of time on our hands at the moment.

If you're not spending £120k on a M8, what would you buy instead?

I asked about M8 availability yesterday, dealer said there were only 5 cars on the BMW dealer stock list if he is to be believed.
Will be a difficult sale even more now......i would be looking at £80k max for me to bite the bullet and that would be new or pre-reg.
