My M3 touring - what to do?
Discussion
Thought it might be about time I posted a few pics of my E46 3 series touring M3 conversion.
Originally a 318i, it has had an engine, exhaust, drivetrain, suspension and brake conversion to that from a 2001 BMW E46 M3.
It has in the region of 340bhp so goes nicely and sounds great. However I don't really need that much power.
I'm not sure what to do with it at present, whether to hang on (as it does everything I need, is quick and a great sleeper) or whether it might be a good time to sell given the M3 touring announcement BMW made recently!!
207k miles and counting
So, should I fix all the superficial bits, go a bit further with the conversion and go to town on the bodywork as well, wheels? Or just keep as a sleeper?
I must say it's been a great project car to learn how to work on.

Now, that is a real sleeper! Well done for getting it done and enjoying it.
However, with the mileage, it will never be worth a great deal, so to go further and give it the full E46 M3 treatment with wheel arches, bonnet, and presumably interior would only be worth it if you were to keep it, you would never recoup the investment.
I would keep it, in its current state, and just enjoy it. A perfect antidote to the ridiculous mess that is the new M3/M4
