M6 GCComp is truly few/rare on uk road
Discussion
Only 16 out of 35 million cars currently on the UK road. Fewer than than Porsche 911 GT2 RS. I am feeling lucky
No of cars registered in the U.K. so far or throughout lifetime

Those numbers aren't true. I believe they all come from the first batch of Comp cars in 13/14 registered seperately. After that they will just be called M6 GCs.
They are not as common as you think. There was no M6GC Comp Pack on BMW AUC when I was buying. From the bmw registry below:
F06 M6 Gran Coupe Competition total production for right hand drive= (ECE-spec, RHD): 287 (81 pre-LCI + 206 LCI)
How many examples of the M6 were produced with the optional Competition Package (7MA)?
F06 M6 Gran Coupe (ECE-spec, LHD): 632 (279 pre-LCI + 353 LCI)
F06 M6 Gran Coupe (ECE-spec, RHD): 287 (81 pre-LCI + 206 LCI)
F06 M6 Gran Coupe (NA-spec, LHD): 1,475 (881 pre-LCI + 594 LCI)
F12 M6 convertible (ECE-spec, LHD): 267 (98 pre-LCI + 169 LCI)
F12 M6 convertible (ECE-spec, RHD): 86 (30 pre-LCI + 56 LCI)
F12 M6 convertible (NA-spec, LHD): 653 (417 pre-LCI + 236 LCI)
F13 M6 coupe (ECE-spec, LHD): 346 (106 pre-LCI + 240 LCI)
F13 M6 coupe (ECE-spec, RHD): 153 (66 pre-LCI + 87 LCI)
F13 M6 coupe (NA-spec, LHD): 698 (414 pre-LCI + 284 LCI)
Check the the BMW registry here for more details:

So what is out of ordinary if we say 16 of total 287 MGC Comp ECE spec produced worldwide (the only other spec on BMW registry is North America) came to the U.K.?
I provided a legit website for U.K. registry for all cars and worldwide BMW registry for M6 and people are doubting based on their perception? What about the no for other cars like M6 coupe with competition package? No mistake about that?
I know the the no for M6GC with comp package appears quite low to be true but that is the only fact we have now. The website for all U.K. cars broke the no down per year and you could explore further

Which other countries are RHD? South Africa, Japan? Which others?
Australia, New Zealand and India (and Pakistan?) spring to mind 01WE01 said:
The 16 you reference doesn't include your car. Therefore it can't be the right number.
It's not perception, its being able to understand multiple sources of data and draw meaningful conclusions.
My first post was meant to say on this website: https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/It's not perception, its being able to understand multiple sources of data and draw meaningful conclusions.
Only 16 M6 GC Comp package was registered new in the U.K. till Q4 2019 as in the below. You could check the website
BMW M6 GRAN COUPE COMP PACKAGE: by 2019 Q4 : 16
I am now beginning to agree it might have underestimated the no registered. According to website, no M6 GC Comp was registered in 2017. However my car was first registered in Sept 2017

As I said, the 16 number relates to the first batch of M6GC Comps that came through in 13/14 and were sold and registered then too.
They were registered as Comp Packs. I.e. it will say "Comp Pack" on the V5.
The subsequent vehicles, yours included, will have been registered as just M6GC with the DVLA, and then count in the normal M6 GC numbers. (All M6s became comp packs from LCI didn't they?)
Therefore, the true number is 16 plus however many of the M6 GC cohort has the Comp pack.
Tl;dr there's probably between 100 to 150 on UK roads.

I do agree with your point in general. However are you saying the U.K. got about 50% of all RHD M6GC Comp Package produced worldwide? Including all the countries mentioned above. They were registered as Comp Packs. I.e. it will say "Comp Pack" on the V5.

Probably somewhere between a 1/3 and 1/2.
They were giving c.30k off a factory order towards the end of the run, so there wasn't unfulfilled demand anywhere else.
Quick Maths:
You say there are 35m cars in the UK. Autotrader has 500k for sale. That's 1 in 70 UK cars for sale on AT currently.
Let's say there are another 500k for sale elsewhere (which I think is generous). Which increases it to 1 in 35 of all UK of all cars is for sale in the UK currently.
Now some cars will be less popular so the ratio could be less than 1 for sale for each 34 not.
Let's say an M6 is more like a third of this, say 1 in every 12 is for sale.
There are 9 M6GC comps for sale on AT currently. That would work out about 100. And I think that's generously underestimating.

I'd go along with that. The UK is the biggest individual RHD market in terms of units sold for BMW, far more than any other RHD country. They sell 4 times as many BMWs in the UK as they do in Japan, for example.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
