Good review by Clarkson in today’s Sunday Times. Sorry it’s behind a paywall but the car looks very tempting.

Yup I love it. Waiting for the BMW support to bring the price down a bit before I take a bath on my X3 and order one biggrin

Q2 deals should be out by now but haven’t seen anything decent yet. Has anyone?

Best I've seen is around 4.3k deposit contribution.

What are you hoping for to make you place an order?

Double that at least. They are running over 15k on the X3M smile

Or you could buy this and ‘beat the waiting list’. wink

Prob with current prices is it’s 911 territory.

Problem for me is I can’t get my e mountain bike in a 911 or on the roof. That’s why the M3/4 works.

I am hoping they can get to 10k down and £699 then I am in.

LOL there's no waiting list on that silly price.

Harry Metcalfe liked it as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JucWxcoKD90

No my cup of tea, a bit too heavy and techy for my taste but certainly a massively capable car.

I enjoyed Harry's review (as ever.) Bit too heavy for my liking too but it's the styling I can't get into. Not just the grill but the whole package looks odd and not particularly good looking. It just makes the outgoing M3 look more appealing.

I agree with Harry, I don't like the price smile

I'd take the standard seats though.

If you’re buying new there’s a bike carrier system on the 911 options list.

Thanks but not for an ebike unfortunately, too heavy.

Just had an open chat with a local dealer. They are currently doing about 6% and suggested he couldn't see that changing for some time based on lack of stock coming from Germany.

I think judging by coast2coast, carwow etc this is unfortunately quite common across the range at the moment and not limited to the new M3. Manufacturer or finance contributions just aren’t there at the moment but if vaccine roll-outs are effective and factories fully re-open etc to bring back plentiful supply, then hopefully this will change.

New M3 models have largely tracked inflation. A £40k 2001 E46 M3 equates to £65k today which was what the F8x Ms started at. Now it has jumped to £75k. I know rrp is largely irrelevant these days as it's about the monthlies but the current financial climate means finances houses are de-risking themselves meaning they're pushing it on to the consumer with lower GFVs and little in way of financial contributions. That's a little shored up by limited supply and some pent up demand so I agree any decent contributions are unlikely this year until they start upping production.

Will be tempted with an M4 later in the year once they start trickling through to the AUC network. When the xdrive versions are available the rear wheel drive prices will start to dive a bit, imo.

Still happy with my F82 M4 for now though.
