Just would like some opinions on this.

Just sold my E92 M3 and want to get into an F80 M3.

After previously selling an M4 3 years ago I have noticed M3 and M4 prices are at stupid money right now and have heard BMW dealers ringing customers offering to buy their cars as they can’t get stock.

I am guessing this is due to covid?

Planning on buying an approved used with no finance so I’d hate to buy only for the market to drop the next month to a more normal state.

I know it’s all crystal ball stuff but just would like some opinions and waiting does seem the best option at present but for how long?

Think you have answered your own questions in your post. If you see a sudden upswing in prices then it isn’t the time to buy. COVID has had a distorting affect on used car prices, sales are down 20 percent on 2019 so there is a lack of new metal. Personally I’m going to wait until it calms down before I buy and save more money towards the replacement,

Even if you have the cash to buy outright, if you are worried about the market, you could buy it on PCP to lock in a guaranteed future value. You can also overpay the PCP to minimise the interest, but get the benefit of the value lock in.
