Hi

I just bought my first M5 - delivered today. 2019 car 12k miles.
Did something I’ve never done before, bought without viewing - over the phone.
Dealer delivered the car today.
All is well except front tyres not the same as the rears !!!!
They put new fronts on but didnt match them.

Don't worry, you'll soon be putting new rears on anyway, so you can match them to the front biggrin

Welcome & nice motorsmile

It's not a show stopper having different brands front to rear, as long as each axle has the same tyre.

Bit shoddy of a BMW dealer to not match them up, but as long as the sizing is correct & they're premium tyres, all will be fine.

As above, i'd imagine you'll get through the rears well before the fronts (unless taking her on track).

Nice car lovely.

It's probably because the tyres you have on the rear aren't approved by BMW for your motor. They refused to put Mich 4S on my M6 as the computer said no. I wouldn't normally buy tyres from BMW anyway it just my car was low loaded to them from France after a blow out rolleyes

Its got P Zeros on the rear so no excuse really.
First time ever I bought the car over the phone without going to the dealer - 150 miles away.

Maybe it’s just me but tyres tell me something about the car - cheapo ones or not matching give me bad vibes.
I didnt think for a second that an AD would put non-matching tyres on an M5 - OK a 320D but not an M5.

Anyway, first world problems - it’s a stunning car and having seen sense the dealer has kindly agreed to pay for 2 matching tyres.

Do the fronts, or rears have the BMW * on them, to ensure that they are OEM spec?

It does make a difference.
