I'm hoping someone on here can steer me on the right path.

So I'm doing an interim oil and filter service (It's been 2 years and 10k miles) normally you pop the reg in your preferred supplier and it comes up with the oil you need.

Not so with the S55...

So I know that it's 0w30 fully synthetic but the bewildering choice leaves me thinking "what should I be using?"

Any advice greatly appreciated,

Cheers T1b

What does the manual (in the iDrive or on your myBMW app) say?
  • Castrol website suggests Edge 5W-30M for the s55b30 in the M2 Comp.
  • Shell website suggets Helix Ultra ECT 0W-30
  • Fuchs website suggests a Titan GT1 5W-30 in either Flex or Pro or a Titan GT1 LL-12 FE in 0W30

If the manual suggests 0w30 then just put that in, how much harder can it be?

I've erred on the side of caution and gone with the BMW LL04 0w30 as the car is still in warranty.

Keep the reciept/invoice with your paperwork. I was told do this incase of any comeback about not using the correct oil in the car. If you got it from ebay then harryfairbairn will send invoice with the oil.
