I’ve been looking for an M2 for a while (lci or comp). I’ve found one I like at the right price in a main dealer. The service history is;

1079 miles 12/2019
17533 miles 03/2021

Does this sound right to have such a big gap between services?

Think it’s every 15k, or if your driving it hard all the time it may come up sooner.

You can view the cars service history online via the BMW website to make sure it’s all up to date.

Personally I do an oil and filter change every 5k which is about once a year for me.

That seems right to me. It has had the running service, and then it has had the usual oil service. The oil service on my F82 M4 is every 2 years or 18k miles...whichever comes first either time or mileage.

Thanks for the info. It seemed a long stretch between services but if that’s correct then all good. I guess I could almost assume it’s been driven carefully?

Presumably there is no more than 24 months between new and the 17k service (the first one is the running in service). If so that's correct and would probably indicate gentle use, longer motorway trips possibly rather than loads of short trips.
