HUD Sat nav

I have a 2016 F10 M5 and the first time I used the sat nav, the immediate directions were displaying on the HUD. (ie Turn left 50 yds ** Road)
Ever since then it hasn't displayed and despite a number of times scrolling through what I thought were obvious places to find this setting I'm stumped.
Can anyone advise please? Thanks in advance

I didn't quite explain clearly what I am having a difficulty with. I have made sure in the settings/HUD that satnav display is checked "on" but it still won't show. Do I have to turn M mode off to get it working? That's the last thing I can think of.

Were you wearing sunglasses? Head Up Display disappears when I were mine?

Ha. No I have used the car with and without sunglasses and it's not showing.
The trick with HUD is to go to settings and alter the ANGLE of the display and you will see everything when wearing even polaroids. Takes a few seconds to get it right to match your eye sight but it's worth it.

as you've pretty much worked out, the directions won't appear in the HUD in M mode when the fancy rev counter is displayed on the screen. That turns everything else off like speed limit display too etc
