Recently been looking at these again and have decided that if I do get another it’s going to have to be an individual colour. Everyone knows Estoril blue, Lagoona seca etc which are beautiful in their own right. But, rarely see the purple type colours. I know of three - one which is actually purple, one which is purple/reddish type and then my favourite is the blue which turns purple in some shades of light. How many did they make in these as I hardly ever see them up for sale?

Daytona violet on the E36 M3 and Techno violet on the E36 M3 Evolution, both were available on the the E46 but under the “individual” program. I very nearly bought one in Daytona violet which popped for sale in Liverpool many moons ago.

Is the blue that turns purple that you describe BMW Velvet Blue , it was available on the Clubsports & as an individual colour.

There is also Aegean Blue which is a blue with a slight greenish tint in the sunlight

Carbon black really does it for me when it comes to a black/blue colour changing paint.

Aegean blue is beautiful, remember it from the e39 5 series
Yes technoviolet is the purple I was referring to- what a colour this is. It kind of reminds me of the purple Audis came in some years ago.
Velvet Blue is thee colour! Probably one of my favourites. It is more blue in pictures but when the sun hits it, it turns purple. Really have to see one in the flesh to appreciate how stunning it really is. This is more common on the clubsport 330 coupes if I’m right?
