Had a browse on autotrader and it seems a 2017/18 one of these can be had for thereabouts £50k… this makes it in reach for me. Does anyone own one?? Any tips… sorry if there is a buying guide somewhere and I missed it. I have an AMG C63s today.

I'm not going to talk you out of it - quite the opposite, what a machine.

All I would say is be aware that these are WAY more expensive now than a couple of years ago, and if for some reason the market ever 'corrects' itself, could be subject to a chunk of depreciation.

I was looking at these in late 2019 / first thing in 2020, and you could get them AUC in the mid £30K's. Relatively new Audi S8s were the same. Big petrol engine saloon cars must have been out of favour for a period. Seems hard to believe now. I didn't pull the trigger as I didn't need a 4 door LWB limousine, but with hindsight it would have been free motoring!

Bought one of these new in 2018.

Was the best BMW i'd ever owned.

Every journey was an event.

Comfort, refined and that V12 dominating everything.

For its size it actually handles really well (as long as you take the runflats off and replace with some decent tyres - I ran MPSS as they were the OE option in europe).

Had no issues with the car at all. Only thing being, as its so long it overhangs every car parking space (but makes it easier to spot).

Mine came with service pack, so have no idea on cost of servicing, wouldn't expect it to be cheap.

MPG wasn't to bad either - low 20s on a decent run.

I always said these would make a good second hand buy, as they depreciate heavily in the first 3 years (like losing over 50% of the cars value).

When mine went back to BMW its value then was less than the outstanding finance on it, so made no sense to keep it.

But what a car.

And if you feel brave (like I did) take it to the boys at DMS and they will tune it very easily to just under 800 BHP and then you have a very quick car and a proper sleeper - which makes it even more fun!
