Discussion
After selling my e92 m3 coupe and 530d oil burner, have started to get that itch for an e46 m3 again as owned some before and they can be quite addictive.
I know the newer cars are faster, easier to drive, have less rust issues Etc etc. BUT for me the e46 shape was the best to look at and soo much fun.
So looking into the CS versions - I know it’s the same car with some added bits from the CSL and see the argument - you can buy a normal one much cheaper and add the CS bits. However, as with most m car owners it’s a heart over head decision and I’m going to get a CS and would
Like a manual.
However, from what I’ve seen they all seem to be SMGs. Now I get the SMG vs manual debate too and have owned both (like them both), but as I am not in a massive rush, don’t mind waiting for one that isn’t smg.
I know it’ll probably require some work but that’s acceptable given the age! If you’re reading and have a CS, show us your pics!

Here's my CS

And here it is in the wild

The E46 is definitely addictive. I had a standard one for years and needed a change but nothing else feels like an E46 so I ended up with the CS.
This will actually be up for sale soon. After 10 years in an E46 I need to scratch some other itches. It's an SMG though so maybe not for you, but hopefully some inspiration!

Glad to see you still have my old CS Ewan. I hope you are well?
I'm good thanks Scott, hope all is well with you. Yeah still got it, I've considered selling it a few times but then take it out for a drive and completely change my mind ha ha. It's been an absolute joy, never put a foot wrong, although at this age it takes a fair bit of maintenance to keep it that way.ewanc said:

Now in an X3M which is a great all rounder. Fantastic engine.
