Wondering if anyone has fitted buckets and/or a rear cage to a z4mr.

Want to start trackdays again but the lack of roll over protection at 6'4 in the z4mr is concerning me.

I wonder if the buckets can give a drop in seat higher and if a rear cage can be enough to help but stay under the hood.

sell up and by something with a roof is def the answer, but i know and like the car so would be good if it can be made to work.

I've sat in an MC with Recaro Pole Position seats which were really good, and another fitted with Carbon Tillet seats which were pretty hard to get in and out of, and weren't too comfortable but would probably be OK in a track car.

Can't help with the cage though as neither was caged, although there is someone who raced a non-M Coupe this year that does have a cage.

You might get a bit more feedback if you asked the same questions on z4forum.

I had both Pole Positions and then Tillett carbon seats in my MC.

The problem with the Pole Positions is they are actually too wide for the cockpit which is surprisingly narrow, as a consequence the shoulder wings slightly foul the door.

The Tilletts I went for were B5s which are very low sided and easy to get in and out of. But very expensive, especially in carbon.

The main other issue is finding suitable brackets to actually secure them to the floor of the car and sliders to allow fore and aft adjustment.

Tillets for the win.....

quite a paint to get in and out of, VERY VERY low in the car but so comfy and fit the cabin so well.... The driving position is incredible as they recline slightly.

Added bonus is that they look easy to clean if you have a brown trouser moment

Look lovely, and expensive too, but comfy? Surely any sort of long distance becomes a pain in the bum, literally.
