Z4 M Performance Mods

Well, in a moment of nostalgia, I bid and won this…

I used to love my old Z4 and always liked the M so why not.
I’ll get it properly sorted paintwork and service etc but I want to use it on the track a bit. I want to extract as much power as possible from it, so I’m thinking supercharger route, no real budget but make it great.
What is generally accepted as the best way to do this? Feel free to live out your stupidest ideas through me. Anything goes.

Very kind offer , bizarrely I was looking at one myself a couple of months ago but I really need to sort out the house first , although the wife wants a new car and an m3 touring seems to make more sense than replacing her 340 touring with a like for like , in certain cases they’re about the same price !

Z4M owner here - remember its a *significantly* faster car than whateve your old Z4 was, 3.0 included.Brakes. Brakes is what they need!
Loved my Imola red Z4MC. Yep echo what others have said, Suspension and brakes. Engine I`d leave unless it needs a refresh. Then all I`d do is perhaps blueprint and balance it and get some proper professional headwork done.
Some people remove the clutch delay valve as pulling away in 1st is not smooth and sometimes 1st to 2nd also.
I daily`ed mine and my hips didn`t enjoy it so swapped for an M6 in the end.

Porsche 911 Brembo brake kit front & rear on standard discs with Pagid RS29 pads and Bilstein B16 PSS10 suspension were my first upgrades.
Also did the obligatory Vibratechnics road engine mounts and different ARBs when I did the suspension.
Finally I took the standard M seats out and put Pole Positions in for more support/comfort on track days / long drives.
Still have my G-Power/Infinitas SK2S (475PS) supercharger kit to fit once I've recommissioned the old girl (160,000 miles) and put the new engine in.

Hello on another Forum.
There are a couple of people on z4forum with supercharged Ms but mine feels plenty fast enough as standard.
I can't understand why they are so cheap compared to E46 Ms when they actually come with CSL suspension steering and front brakes and CSLs command loads of money.
Mind you it looks like you'll be upgrading those anyway!

I know there’s no real need to supercharge it but when did need ever come into it!? It’ll purely be for track and the odd sunny day.
It’ll be getting the full once over and everything that needs doing will be done. I’m thinking (hopeful) that it’ll be something that doesn’t lose a lot over the course of a few years as they become rarer but who knows. It doesn’t cost a lot to insure and have hanging around and I think it’s worth every bit the sum of its parts. I remember fondly my old Z4, one of my favourite cars.

Rod bearing issue... although as always overblown
Usually @ 80k they recommend to replace them. I'm on 102k on mine and it's due INSPII, so I've bitten the bullet, as I feel I'm on borrowed timed and I drive it for fun, so always a bit revvy... I also may sell this year, so want to ensure it gets a fair chance! Top buy AB, a steal at that price for the mileage! makes me wonder if mine is worth £10k...
