I m just getting some new rubber for my M Coupe but the tires I want - Potenza Sport Evo only come in 94 Y XL for the fronts and 91 Y for the rear.

Do I need to give a stuff about that? Scientifically I guess the firmer sidewall upfront only could create a handling imbalance but in reality I m not sure I d ever notice.

The OE ratings are 90Y front and rear.

Otherwise I’ll just get PS5’s in the correct sizes and load ratings.

Cheers.

Both are fine, just means you can carry more load.

Sure, if front and back are both XL, but if front only is, that’s the question.

I'd get the PS5s or Contact 7's if they have the size

Only at the higher tyre pressures the XL will withstand. For any given pressure the load capacity is the same, in some cases it's slightly lower for XL.
