E36 M3 Evo Dave F induction kit

Anyone know how to get hold of a Dave F induction kit? The E36 coupe website seems to be shut for new users!

It's awesome and well worth the investment. Think it's £165 at the moment. Come with custom made heatshield & collar as well as a cold air feed and a massive K&N filter. Dyno tested to be worth 12-15bhp on an M3. Love mine.

e36coupe.com is only open to registered users to view. If you have registered then it sometimes takes some time for the mods to approve and activate your membership. I joined in 2005 and they had about 5000 members. They now have over 23000 so that gives you some idea of how busy the mods are!

Do you leave the small auxillary warm air pipe poking through the heat sheild with no filter on?

Do dave F kits use a K/N or similar oiled air filter?

I thought there could be issues with using this type of filter as it can over time damage the airflow meter

It's not an oiled filter (at least as far as I can tell) but it is a K&N.

I've done over 10k with a Dave F and had no issues with the MAF whatsoever.

Does your small rubber breather pipe just sit in the dave-f heat sheild?

Type hybrid induction into ebay. This is where to get a Dave F kit from.

Sounds as though you need to wash & Re-Oil yours soon then

All the K&N filters are oiled filters!

the problems reported of oil contamination sometimes happens after the owners 1st oil them & get carried away applying too much oil & not following the guidelines.

Thinking about fitting a kit to my M3 not sure which one, had lots of good reports but apart from the noise does it realy make a differance to the power? my car has 88k on clock has not been on rolling road so not sure of the output. would 10-15hp differance be possible?

I have the Dave F kit... sounds awsome and is well made, so I'd recomend it.

I also registered on the E36coupe in January and have never had an activation email so have never been able to get on.... have lost hope of ever getting one now.

Fiddling with and air intake and exhaust will give you minimal gains. Honestly.
And even if you manage 10hp, I doubt anyone could really notice the difference between 310 and 320 hp on the road.

the noise the intake makes is worth the effort though...

Indeed

I'm no roy bacer, but that's really the only reason I bought the kit.

I'm not sure if it's just the noise, but my midrange feels really strong since I put the Dave F kit on.
If you going to do 1 mod to the E36 M3, make it this induction kit!
