What is it with people!! (Buying an E46 M3)
Discussion
After quite a few months of researching/looking around for the right M3, I finally found one that seemed to fit the bill. I took the day off work today to go and view the car (luckily it wasn't too far away so I didn't spend hours travelling) and agreed a price with the seller. He has just 'phoned back to say that, actually he doesn't want to sell the car now!
Now, I know there is nothing I can do about this (I didn't even leave a deposit as the guy didn't want one - thought that was strange at the time), but why waste people's time!
So, if anyone is genuinely selling their E46 M3 coupe I am a genuine buyer, with a budget of up to £20,000. Spec must be as follows:
Carbon black
Black leather
Widescreen Nav/TV
Harman Kardon
Manual or SMG
No wood trim
19 inch alloys
Full service history (BMW and/or specialist) with 1200 mile running in service completed on time.
50,000 miles or less on the clock
All recall work completed
Bodywork and interior must be in very good condition (I am fussy when it comes to cars!).
Sunroof would also be nice and heated seats a bonus.
I seem to spend a considerable amount of time trawling PH/Autotrader etc. looking for them so if anyone can point me in the direction of a car they personally know is very good that would help me!
Cheers

Couldn't agree more. You advertise a car 'for sale' for one reason - what it says on the tin. Sorry that you've been the victim of someone who seems to have advertised it for some other reason. Good luck with your hunt - most people who say they want to sell it to you will be true to their word!
Yes - that's a right pain in the derriere, so to speak. However, the guy selling may have had second thoughts - which I can totally understand. Having owned a Carbon Black E46M3 for just over a year I'm struggling to think of a better car for the money that can accommodate 4 people in comfort, deliver 343 bhp and grins galore, whilst still giving 23 m.p.g. tooling around town or over 30 m.p.g. cruising down the motorway. So the very reason you wanted his car may have been why he got cold feet at the sale... Don't worry though, there are plenty of good examples out there - hope you find the one that is right for you soon and get to enjoy what is an excellent car.
