Just a wee thought prior to e46 purchase.....the car is quoted as 1947mm wide....what do you reckon the minimum, comfortable entrance width of the garage is?

And is 1947mm with the mirrors folded?

I think you will find the 1947mm is without the mirrors being folded as they are in line with the extended wheel arches i.e. I don't think the mirrors increase the overall width. I have about 2cm to spare either side as mine goes into the garage and I generally gauge how well I have done it by how close the mirrors are to the door frame on each side :-)

It'll be the width as standard

so you'll save a little bit when you fold the mirrors in.. But remember that you need to be able to open the doors once your in.. laugh

I think a standard width single garage door, is about 7ft (2133mm). I measured mine at roughly that, and my E46M3 goes in with the mirrors unfolded. My problem is that I only have 5cm clearance lengthways yikesyikesyikes

How do you get in and out of the car without smashing door on the wall ? I would nail a large piece of thick carpet to the wall as I am a clumsy bd.
