Help needed please!
Does anyone know the exact specification of the transmission fluid for the S50 engined M Roadster/Coupe?
Is it a ATF (auto fluid) in which case what is the dexron number?
If it is a manual transmission fluid what is the recommended viscosity?

The reason I ask Is I am looking to change my fluid for a thicker variant to help stop my gear rattle from my lightweight flywheel. But there are so many different oils you need to know what sort you stick in. Owing to the large heat build up due to poor ventilation on these cars someone had suggested it may run automatic transmission fluid to cope with the heat.

A bottle of the following has been the suggested remedy Redline 75W-140NS and Redline D4 ATF mixed together, however cannot seem to find to much supporting evidence or anywhere to buy it.

Anyway any info welcomed please guys!!

I know on the euro S50B32 E36 coupe that ATF is used on the 6 speed box. There is an orange sticker saying so on the undeside of the tranny. Yours might have an orange sticker if you give it a good clean...
