dakar yellow e36 m3 evo

hi all.

just wondering what everyones opinions of this colour is. im thinking of selling mine (vert) next year due to an expanding family!

dont get me wrong, i love love the colour, but with the current financial climate plus the unusual colour, im beginning to think it may take some time to shift.

the car is immacualte, 54K and no vanos issues.

yay or nay?

I used to hate this colour but recently I've been coming round to them, I've seen quite a few that look really good, although personally I still would not buy one in yellow. It's like anything though, there will be plenty that love the colour so price it well and be prepared for it to take a couple of months and you will sell it. Other factors like SMG will also affect it's value and desirability.

I specifically went looking for a dakar yellow car. Estroil blue looks dated now, where as the yellow seems to make the Evo look more retro cool. It also doesn't show scratches and ages very well. I love the contrast of black trim and yellow paint. It looks it's best under artificial light i.e petrol station a night.

You only need one buyer to like it so it doesn't really matter what the general concensus is.

Yellow is not my favourite colour, Estoril blue is mine out of all the M cars but it would seem I am on my own there!!

I think there are two shades of the yellow arent there? One looks a bilt milky and the other a mor e' solid' yellow?

I had a non-Evo one for a while and couldnt really live with the attention (I was young and was street parking), though I never had any hassle. I do love the colour and think the Evo looks sensational in it. Your car looks fantastic, shame you have to sell.

Just out of curiosity, how much were you looking to sell for? And how much of a rush? As I see it, someone might come along and offer you what you want for it, as long as you aren't in a rush you should be fine.

im looking to sell in March/april time. I will try to keep it if i can financially (baby on the way) as i have only had it since march this year.

its got 54K miles, full service history. already had 2 oil changes (inc vanos filters) by myself (royal purple oil).
- hardtop
- 2 sets of motorsport alloys. - yes both genuine. 1 set is in perfect condition - use in the summer
- unmarked leather
- everything works!
- 10speaker HK system with 6cd changer
- arches have rust proofed with POR-15 (this summer)

i guess i ideally i would would like no less than 8K next year. might sound excessive, but it really is a minter! and i think i would pay that if i was after one.

I'd agree, the minter ones are worth the money as they seem very few and far between. However, there are so many poor examples that ask for such a low price, therefore making your example look overpriced.

Out of interest, how much did you buy it for if I may be so direct?
