Had a go in one of these a few weeks ago and loved it - test drove an RS4 and a Merc C63AMG but felt that this was definitely the better driver's car.

Bizarrely, when I drove the saloon, I was less interested in the M3 than the RS4, possibly because the weather was so crap but I have to say that having had another go in the M3 that I prefer it to the RS4. It's more difficult to drive fast but it's going to be so much fun to learn - just hope the deal doesn't fall through

I'm gagging to get it now!!!!

They are definitely more 'fun' in this weather. It will certainly keep you entertained, especially when you have the 'M' button set up as you want. Instant grin factor when you switch it on.

I've had faster cars but with 4WD and more gizmos to keep you on the road. Not a bad thing but can get boring.

Good luck with the new purchase.

Amar truth is RS4, C63AMG and M3 are all awesome. It really depends on what you want. AMG is all about that engine, unbelievable noise and stunning torque, so much so that on damp roads the ESP light's virtually always on! It's fast with a capital F and the rest of the car feels like it's trying to keep up! Personally, I didn't like the dash plastics - looked too cheap! But the design and general feel of the car was great. However, it's not worth spending the extra money on it unless straight-line speed is your ultimate goal (IMHO). The RS4, you can just get in and after 5 to 10mins feel like you can absolutely nail it, which for me is both good and bad. Good because the feeling of absolute invincibility, bad because, I like to learn over time how to drive a car fast. This is where the M3 really delivers, mastering it is not the work of a day, it's engine is also awesome but different to the C63 in its delivery and it does the all things to all people thing really well. You can drive up to 6,000RPM and feel like you have a rapid cruiser, or you can punch it all the way to 8,400RPM and be introduced to a whole new and different world, which is truly magnificent.

Found out today that all has been approved - just need to ensure that they're happy with the p/x and next week that baby's mine - I can't wait!!woohoo

Metallic grey, 2000 miles with grey leather, EDC, Hi-fi speaker system, heated seats, bluetooth etc - Reasonable spec would cost about 55K new I reckon. Lovely car, I'm doing more than looking at it though deposit went down on it yesterday!

J-P - Have you recently traded in an e46 M3 (silver 48k) for your e92 model?

I've just agreed to buy the e46 and I think it may be your old one!
