Emissions light is on

Ok so my warning light for the emissions came on tonight ,and i was wondering what the best plan of action would be. I have done a little research already and am i right in assuming it could be the cat converter or the 02 sensor

I have no idea what an emmission light is. If you mean the engine SES/EML light then it could be any number of several hundred things.
Take your car to a dealer/garage who will read the error cose for you. Failing that, buy a Peake code reader, this will pay for itself after only 2 visits to the garage.

If there is an emissions light it will either be that ur CATS have gone or the Post CAT sensor/s are failing or have failed.

Yes, those sensors do fail but its important to ensure that you find the route cause of what is causing these sensors to fail.

Hi, depending on where you are in the country, i have genuine BMW dealer diagnostic equipment and would be glad to diagnose it for you. As previously said, it could be a vast number of things, but until it's plugged in, it's a big guess.
