Will 220/62/17 competition tyres fit??
Discussion
I've been offered some cheap 220/62/17 michelin competition tyres and wondered if they would fit my e36 m3 trackcar? It is currently running 235/40/17 front and 245/40/17 rear as it has the wider rear rims fitted.
Any help apreciated as i've got to get something sorted by next friday for abingdon.
Cheers

Yep sounds OK.
Rule of thumb for any tyre is the ideal rim width should be 90% of the tyre width with an inch leeway either side.
(220/25.4) x 0.9 = 7.8in (i.e. 8in) ideal rim width
With inch leeway gives you 8.8in (9in) or 6.8in (7in) rim tolerance, both your front (7.5in) and rear (8.5in) rims should be OK.
620mm diameter is fine too, only 7.8mm smaller in diameter than what you have on the rear at the moment.
This is a rule of thumb though, you really need to check with Michelin to be sure.
