I am seriously considering a 2005 M6 from BMW's approved used site. I currently have an E46 M3 & have previously had a Z3M roadster so i am, unfortunately, very familiar with M running costs etc.

Do you guys have any tips/advice regarding the mighty M6?

Cheers

Drop us a link so we can have a look for you. I'd suggest:

1. Spec - full leather great option and really makes a difference to the quality feel of the interior (good anyway, better with full leather) think it was a £5k option, try to avoid carbon dash as not that nice compared to piano black.
2. Red is a difficult colour to sell, black doesn't show up the carbon roof.
3. Check latest version of idrive will be installed if not on already.
4. I'd not dismiss a private sale as long as the car has a full AUC warranty going as this can be transferred.
5. Don't worry about the illumuinated sills to much as apparently none of them last...

AUC cars can only have a supporting warranty if no launches are recorded and the 1200 mile service was done in time (so I was told when I bought)

I've looked at that car today. It's ok. Drivers seat is worn but they said this would be fixed. It is a bit pricey at £37k.

mine doesn't have any wear at 32k.

It's not full leather either - I found it made a big difference to the feel of the interior.
