Anybody got any good shots of a Carbon Black car? One that shows off the blue tint the colour has.

Cheers,

Charlie

I can go take one now if you like - car is pretty grubby and traditionally swirl laden though!

Any particular shot you need?

Looks fantastic when the car is de-swirled......

I've got a Carbon Black M3 and a TVR Chimaera in Porsche Midnight Blue. It's hard work to keep them nice!!!

As I said! It will get it's spring 'seeing to' soon though but right now it looks like I wash it with a brillo pad!

Looks like mine!

How the hell does one de-swirl the thing? The swirling happens as a result of big brush car washes is it not??

Hi Vixpy,

My 330d was carbon black. It can be a nightmare to keep on top of. Hence I have a boring silver grey car now! Hope this shows off the blue Here are a couple of pics.........

And a 50:50 shot during cleaning......

Charlie

If you have any sense left (after a few nights at DD's), DON'T paint anyhting Carbon Black. It is a NIGHTMARE to keep clean. Just horrendous. Seriously.

I had an m3 in carbon black and hated the colour, but I wanted a black car and it was virtually the only black they used (I have seen one in gloss black). Cant imagine why you would ever want to paint a car that colour deliberately.

If you want a proper black then go for saphire black (BMW) or a non metallic gloss black.

If you want blue then imperial blue (ford colour) or velvet blue (BMW colour) are much better IMO.

Carbon Black, like any black is the best colour when clean and new but looks absolutely shyte when washed without due car and attention.

That swirled photo above is how 99% of Carbon Black cars look unless the owner is an obsessive detailer.

Why anybody would want a black car is beyond me - unless you are Chinese & your life is owned by the Yazuka & drug gangs...

I've had 3 black cars & they are an absolute disaster to keep clean.

And I find it hilarious when I see dealers claiming that they have the "best ever colour combination" in black with a red interior! Unless you are a pimp, gay or live in Brighton & employ an idiotic "detailing" company to clean & polish your car weekly (sadly there are many on this forum who do - watch Rogue Traders), get a life. It pisses me off to see wasters posting & bragging here when ordinary people can't even afford to tax & insure a 20 year old Ford Escort. Go think about how lucky you are. Then think that in the coming months you will probably lose your job - ie be made redundant.

I've been out of work for 11 years. It's not a barrel of laughs! But like "Fred the Shred" I AM laughing......

you can deswirl a car by applying the polish in strait lines not in a circular motion and i also use a damp cloth to apply it.the swirls come from any kind of washing and car washes just make it 10 times worse.power washes dont leave swirls but take the shine off , have not used a power wash in years and hav`nt needed to polish halve as much.

Why is it that PistonHeads has a ridiculous policy of banning the naming and shaming of unscrupulous, dodgy garages/workshops etc which would undoubtedly help its members to avoid the car related bad experiences of others, yet it allows this c*nt to freely and continually post utter garbage which does nothing to help anyone?
