Hi all,

does anyone know much about the £200 check BMW will run on used cars you ask them to inspect?

Does this carry any cover on engine etc if it turns out they failed to spot something?

Also, how extensive is it?

Thanks

Its a pretty through check if its the same one they do when prepping AUC's.
There is no "cover" though, thats what BMW provide a warranty for.
Get one with a BMW warranty, mine is an 02 car & still under the extended warranty.
It been totally reliable in the 3 years i've had it, but as an example, last year they found metallic particles in the brake fluid.
It turns out that a valve in the ABS unit had broken up. BMW replaced the abs unit, master clyinder, all hoses calipers etc, anything that had been in contact with the fluid Cost was just shy of 4k inc labour.
Also provided a loan car free while the work was going on.
No quibble, no discussion as to if it was covered or not, just sorted.

BMW warranty a must on these cars for me, and having a great service/warranty manager at the dealer helps too.
