That is really sh*ty, sorry for your loss. Were your keys stolen from the house?

Keep an eye on ebay for parts, I found my stolen motorcycle on there once frown though I expect for a high value item it's less likely.

I will keep an eye out around west London

Terrible news. I've made the thread "sticky".

I hope the perps die an unexpected painful slow death.

Do you have a tracker system?

sadly. it's probably been nicked to order and will be on its way to the Middle East or similar by now. Hope that's not the case though, and you get it back soon. I think they should bring back some sort of severe punishment for Car theft and put the cretins off doing it.

What i do no tunderstand is , if you walk in a bank and steal 40,000 you would get a considerable jail term , steal a car worth 40k and it seems you get a slap on the wrists confused

From experience and understanding, they've probably been profiling you and your car for a while now. The number plate will have been swapped ASAP for that of an identical car to make it less obvious and suspicious (very easy to do, just go on Autotrader, find a matching car, copy the number plate and have them made up from a spares shop).

Best bet and hope is that the tracker hasn't been found and removed. That's your best chance of retrieving it.

I hope you get it back Dubbs, I remember being genuinely happy for you when you got it and reading your reviews. I'm always happy for people who've become successful and wish them the best.

I sincerely hope you get it back and hope those responsible are brought to justice (or have their hands cut off, Saudi style!!)

Sorry to hear that dubbs, fingers crossed for a speedy resolution.

Makes me sick - you work hard to get something desirable, and some scumbag thinks it acceptable to nick it!

All the best

Thanks for the comments folks. Most valuables left so police think it was purely car motivated. They reported my car acting suspiciously in Bexley village (mile away) 40mins before wife got back so was quite close. Shame police don't stop cars that look suspicious as I'd have it back by now.

Finding another in that spec will be tough...

Barstewards....will never cease to amaze me that even if they got caught..the sentence would be weak...

Glad you and your family are okay and whatever you do...don't let this deter you from getting back into the M fold as it's highly unlikely they'll bother again...

Jeez....they talk about retaliation/revenge etc being wrong but they don't realise that such premeditated events such as car theft really do justify it amongst several other everyday crimes...

Should be allowed to hunt em down and do the worst....

Arghhhhh

Unreal - they note its "acting suspicously" but dont pull it?

And then to add insult to injury, tell you about this?

Mate, my most profound sympathy - you will get another but it's a sobering reminder of the rampant scum and pure villainy which stalks Albion.

One thing worth installing is a device which disorientates vermin who feel the right to ownership without the need to pay: relliance on your own mettle and convenient sporting paraphenalia which may be lying around only goes so far.

What time of day did this occur?

In the afternoon... The window of opportunity was small enough to assume a pro job. Police noted they tried the quiet methods befor going for glass.. They said the scum would have been determined to go as far as they did as smashing double glazing is a noisy affair :-(

bds - feel for you.

One thing I never get is why would someone want a stolen car back? For one its now recorded on HPI ? Does the insurance company recompense the difference between retail non-HPI vs. retail HPI in such cases on recovery?

^above^ - if you get it back, & it's undamaged or repairable, & therefore the insurer hasn't needed to pay out for a total loss, it's unlikely to be recorded on HPI, AFAIK. One of mine had that happen, early in its life, it's clear on all the searches.

For the OP - good luck, hope the b4st4rds rot in hell.
