Hope this is of use to someone, BMW have a deal on m3's - new m3 + dual clutch 'box and 19's for £555+vat on a lease deal = £638 including road tax. Three payments as a deposit.

In the great scheme of things, it doesnt seem madly expensive to me, given they're looking £450 or so for a 320d coupe?

Food for thought, i agree not too bad a deal. When you think about a second hand car with warranty coming up and expensive Insp Service & tax, it all adds up.

Yup, our local stealer for looking £700+ a month on an 08 m3 on a PCP deal

plus with a new car with those bits nudging £55K and two year old cars avail for around £35K, it could work out significantly cheaper to lease than to buy a new one.

No individuals can take them out - you just cant reclaim the VAT.

Wow, this seems like a great deal. Seriously tempting offer.

Surely the best way to get into a new m3 without pumping cash in upfront?

Yes, let us know how you get on. We're heading down to our dealers on thursday for a similar chat. My only concern is that i suspect there are very few cars around, if any, with that exact spec, thus the actual figures will be much higher. This happened when i looked at a Mercedes GL 320CDI a couple of years ago, the deal only applied to available stock and there was no available stock that wasnt very heavily laiden with options - which really knocks up the leasing rates.

Offer available on new models only. Cars must be registered by 30 June 2009 and hired through BMW Contract Hire, subject to availability. Participating dealers only. Not available in conjunction with any other offer. *Offer available to business users only, figures exclude VAT. Hiring example is based on a 42 month BMW Contract Hire agreement with a contract mileage of 35,000 miles. 1Image shown is a BMW M3 Coupé with 19" M Double-spoke style 220M wheels (£1,240) seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission (M DCT) with DRIVELOGIC (£2,535). Vehicle condition charges may apply. Figures are correct at time of publication and are subject to change without notice. All hiring is subject to status and available to over 18s in the UK only (excluding the Channel Islands). Guarantees and indemnities may be required. Hiring facilities provided by BMW Financial Services, Europa House, Bartley Way, Hook, Hampshire, RG27 9UF. Registered Company Number 01288537. †Test drive subject to applicant status and availability.

Looks like you have to add the cost of the alloys and gearbox and it is indeed business users only.

You're reading it wrong. The line where it quotes the price says BMW M3 Coupe (with options)1, where 1 refers to the options of the 19 inch wheels and the 'box. It actually even gives the spec under the word 'RUSH' at the top as to what you get for your £555.

They also wont give a monkeys about 'business' only, it will be avail to anyone - you just add on the VAT.

Just called my local dealership. Indeed, as stated previously, the offer is open to both business and private individuals.

Going to talk over the figures tonight. Trying so very hard to resist, but I sense M3 ownership is just around the corner.

I take it that this is one of those deals where you still have to pay the maintenance of the vehicle, and have your own insurance etc.

So £555+VAT = £638/month

£7700 per year, for 3.5 years = £26950 + £1914 deposit

New car = £54000 ish and after 3.5 years (total guess) will be worth £20-25k

So on that basis it's not a bad deal if you're happy to be tied in for that long, esp. compared to a low deposit PCP deal. Does the deal include servicing, tyres and tax? What are the early termination fees?

Would normally include tax (but some deals are excluding it now). No to servicing and tyres (they'd have to be a bit mad to include tyres).

You're thinking PCP (consumer credit). This is contract hire, so probably best to assume £26950 less however many months you've paid.

The other "catch" as I found out today is that such a car doesnt actually exist!

A quick check of current BMW stock reveals that there were tens and tens of them but none with just 19" wheels and M-DCT.

Most seem to come fully loaded with pretty much every option box ticked making that £555 just the starting figure. I reckon you're looking at nearer £700 / mnth + VAT for a typical car.

Still not a bad deal but not the total bargain it first looks like.

However, seeing how many cars were in stock, I reckon they'll have to pre-register alot like they did with the M3 saloons, so Id imagine them coming onto the used car market in a great big dollop come September time at a real bargain price.
