Can anyone recommend somewhere that would maybe sell salvaged interiors? I'm aware of Fab Direct but none others.

Ideally i'm after an SMG unit base - the part with the 'SMG' logo on in earlier models. I want to replace it. Also anyone any idea of the difficuilty in doing this?

Also want a new centre console trim piece, along with the door trims - i.e the piece that runs up the door arm (door trim surface shows signs of cracking).

Thanks.

There's an ad in the parts section of the classifieds from someone breaking an E46 M3

If you can't find them second hand then it is always worth checking with the dealer - some trim pieces are suprisingly cheap.

10% discount off many parts if you belong to the BMW CC too.

There's usually a number of M3's being broken on FleaBay - might be worth getting in touch with them?

Yes - try Cotswold Cheltenham, they do good deals on mail order.

If you're trying to rectify the crazy paving there is a FAR cheaper way of doing this - take the parts of yourself and spray...

...let me know if you need details.

I am sure there is a place called Quarry motors that breaks BM's too - the back pages of BMW Car Magazine usually have a few adverts for places that do. I got some trim pieces I wanted for my 330i from eBay a couple of years ago with no hassle.

In essence it involves taking the 'interior trim' bits off the car and take to a bodyshop who will flatten back and paint for less than £50. Then all you need to do is to go and put them back onto the car.

I'm trying to find the link to the step-by-step details with pics on how to remove the interior trim - just seems mtorque is down at the moment so can't retrieve the link from the original thread !

As soons as its up and running I'll post the link...
