Was on the tunnel run through town on Sunday night, which ended up near Heathrow. A mate and I went over to Terminal 5 just out of boredom/curiosity afterwards to get something to eat. Failed with that as everywhere was shut (not even a 24H Macdonalds!) but the carpark was rather nice and shiny, and I had my SLR with me, so decided to snap a few shots...

Hehe.. actually I was holding the camera, so it was my mate that was going the wrong way. I didn't notice until I looked back at the photos later that the arrows showed up in the photos though! Doh!

The carpark was dead though, no cars about, and although it looks nice and speedy in that shot, I think he was doing about 5mph. Not a bad place for a few shots, although you wouldn't want to spend too long there at Short Term parking rates!

Great shots Sixspeed. Make the most of them fellah. As you get older nobody will care... Watch Clint Eastwood in "Gran Turino" & you will understand. Your dream car is exactly that - only YOUR dream car. Nobody else bar you gives a poo.

Lovely car but completely untouchable due to your modifications & public description of it's thrashing around the Ring.

This place gets weirder and weirder...

Ace shots SS. Good to see you on Sunday night (technically Monday), albeit rather briefly at the end. She's still a beaut!

Edited to correct day - it's been a long weekend...

Banus, odd reply.. not sure what to make of it, but enjoy your dream car too, whatever that may be!

As to the rest, thanks for the comments. Frik, good to meet you too! See you on the next one no doubt! biggrin

Just ignore Banarse. He had a go at me for buying a new car a couple of weeks ago saying it was a waste of money etc.

Yeah, I noticed some of his comments on the Carbon Roof Z4MC thread... comes across a little green-eyed at times. Who knows. Each to their own! biggrin

I have more aspirational dream cars than the Z4MC though, not knocking how good the Z is mind you. And I love it for what it is (else I'd not put all the time and money into it!). But I still lust for something with a Raging Bull on the front, or one of those Panini things... wink

I'd touch it as I understand what's gone in to getting it the way it is - and it's something I've done in the past on other cars.

Some people assume 'modified' means 'chavved up' - and it can mean that in some cases, this is not one of them though!

Something Italian would be lovely. One of my (realistic) dream cars is the Z4MC but the otherhalf said nonofrown so I'm ticking another box instead; M3 arrives in June bounce

Andy,

On a serious note, how do you get away with not having a front number plate?!

Looks wicked of course, just wondered. scratchchin

Or is it one of those 'thou shall not talk about it in public things'?

That car is - as you probably well know! - bl00dy gorgeous. Pics are nice too, a little dark maybe but without using flash thats tricky to solve in a car park. Has your car been featured in any of the BMW title's Andy? I'd love to see if we could do a feature or something - feel free to email me Steve@stevehallphotography.net

cheers,
Steve

It was featured in BMW Car (I think!) a year or so ago. Good write up, but the pics left me a little underwhelmed. On the other hand, it was also featured by Max Power... brilliant photos, dire write-up.

BMW Performance would like to feature it, but I want to get to a point where the car is "finished" now before it goes in any more magazines. In my mind, that means a few more bits of interior trimming, uprated multi-piston brakes, and a supercharger. biggrin Not sure how long that will all take though. Ideally this year, but work is proving a bit inconsistant at the moment and is ruining those plans!

What magazine do you work for?

Aha yes I remember seeing some photo's of your car by James Lipman who is bl00dy awesome - I guess those are the ones which made Max Power.

Didn't realize you had so much more planned for it, thats going to be some beast once its finished.... may I put my hat in the ring to 'bagsy' first opportunity to shoot the finished article? smile

"What magazine do you work for?"

Whoever pays me hehe Seriously, I'm freelance so I work with whoever is interested in running the piece - I have had several features published in Performance BMW so thats always a strong candidate but then there are performance car magazines worldwide who'd probably be interested in such a unique and special car....
